Welcome to Urban Studies and the new semester. There will be a library orientation session on Tuesday, September 12, 5:30-7:30 in Room HC1350. The session will be led by our subject librarian, Nina Smart.
The student orientation, hosted by the Urban Studies Graduate Student Orientation, will take place Saturday, September 16th. Please come and welcome our new students.
1:00-2:30 Introductions and Information Session. Welcome and introductions from our Program Director and Program Manager, Graduate Student’s Society and Caucus. Information from Health Services, Career Services, and the Registrar.
2:40-3:00 Building Tour. Program offices and work space, and 3rd floor lunchroom
3:15-4:00 Alumni Panel. Urban Studies Alumni share their experiences and offer perspectives on making the most of the opportunities in the program.
4:15 Catch SeaBus to North Vancouver. Have your Compass Card loaded and ready!
4:45 Vancouver Port Reflection. Meet at the Burrard Dry Dock Pier – Resident Urban Waterfronts, Ports, and Logistics expert Peter Hall gives us some insight into our own Port-City.
5:00 Social @ Cheshire Cheese (Lonsdale Quay Market). Students, Faculty, Alumni are welcome to stay and socialize in a casual environment. Drinks and shared appetizers will be provided.
